Outwardly, we can easily practice gratitude by both giving and receiving thanks. When an employee or colleague thanks you today, don’t brush it off or dismiss it. Listen fully, take in the energy of their gratitude, and give it back with a genuine sentiment of “You are welcome.” By doing so, you acknowledge both giver and receiver and become one in your graciousness. Seek out opportunities to thank others from the bottom of your heart, and express your thanks — even a simple “Thank you” or “I appreciate all that you do” is far more than most employers offer their staff. At the end of each workday or before bed, spend a moment taking inventory of the day and all the opportunities you had to give and receive gratitude. Resolve to grow ever more abundant in grace and generosity.
